LEGO Disney Alien Ride 43307 Review: A Fun Build That Really Comes Alive

LEGO®Disney Pixar 43307 Alien with Pizza Planet Rocket Ride completed build with box and instruction books

If you’re a Toy Story fan or just looking for a fun Disney LEGO set to build, the LEGO Disney Alien with Pizza Planet Rocket Ride 43307 is definitely worth a closer look. In this LEGO 43307 review, I’ll share what I liked about the build, why starting with the Alien made the experience so much fun, and how adding the BrickBling light kit completely changed the finished display. The Alien looks fantastic, the Pizza Planet ride adds plenty of personality, and once the lights are installed, the whole set really comes alive.

Starting With the Best Part

One of the things I enjoyed most about LEGO set 43307 was the way the build started.

The Alien is the first major part of the set you build, and I think that was a great decision. Instead of spending a long time working toward the character I really wanted to see, I got to build him right away.

Brick-built Toy Story Alien from LEGO® Disney Pixar set 43307That immediately pulled me into the set.

As the head, antenna, ears, eyes, face and body started coming together, I found myself getting more excited with every step. By the time I finished the Alien, I was already hooked and ready to keep going.

And the finished Alien looks amazing.

LEGO really captured the personality of the Toy Story character. The oversized eyes, bright green color, blue uniform and familiar expression all work together extremely well. It is instantly recognizable, and it has that slightly goofy look that makes the Aliens so much fun in the movies.

The Alien could easily stand on its own as a display piece, but thankfully the set does not stop there.

Building the Pizza Planet Rocket Ride

Once the Alien was finished, the build moved on to the Pizza Planet rocket ride.

I liked the change in pace.

The first part of the build is all about creating the character, while the second part feels more like building a small amusement ride. That difference kept the experience interesting and prevented the build from feeling repetitive.

The Pizza Planet theme also adds a lot to the finished model.

The rocket is colorful, recognizable and gives the Alien a setting instead of simply having him standing by himself. It makes the entire set feel much more connected to Toy Story.

Once the Alien is sitting in the completed ride, the whole thing just works.

A Fun Build From Start to Finish

What stood out to me most about this set was that I simply enjoyed building it.

That sounds obvious, but not every LEGO set delivers the same experience. Some larger builds can start to feel repetitive, especially when you are working through similar sections over and over again.

I never really felt that with this one.

Starting with the Alien gave me an early payoff, and then moving into the Pizza Planet ride gave me something completely different to work on. There was always something new taking shape.

By the time I finished, I felt like the build had gone by pretty quickly.

That is usually a good sign.

The Finished Display

Completed LEGO® 43307 Pizza Planet Rocket Ride with Toy Story AlienOnce everything was put together, I was really happy with how the set looked.

The Alien is still the star of the show for me. He has so much personality that your eyes naturally go right to him.

The Pizza Planet rocket adds the color and background that helps complete the scene.

Together, they make a really fun Toy Story display.

This is the kind of LEGO set that works especially well on a shelf because you do not need a huge amount of space around it to understand what you are looking at. Even from across the room, you immediately recognize the Alien and the Pizza Planet theme.

But after I finished building it, I decided I wanted to take the display one step further.

Adding the Light Kit

After completing the LEGO set, I added the BrickBling light kit designed for 43307.

As usual, BrickBling did not disappoint.

The lighting completely changed the look of the finished model.

Once the lights were installed, the Pizza Planet ride felt much more alive. The lighting adds depth to the display and helps bring out details that can get lost when the set is sitting on a shelf under normal room lighting.

It turned a display that I already liked into something that grabs even more attention.

That is what I like about a good lighting kit. It should complement the LEGO set without taking over the entire display.

This one does exactly that.

Why I Like BrickBling Kits

I have used BrickBling lighting kits before, and one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to them is the installation process.

The directions are easy to follow, which is important when you are dealing with tiny wires and connections.

The micro plugs are also easy to install.

That may sound like a small thing, but it makes a big difference. When you are adding lights to an already completed LEGO set, the last thing you want is to spend the entire time fighting with connectors or trying to figure out where every wire goes.

The BrickBling setup was straightforward, and I was able to concentrate more on improving the display instead of struggling with the installation.

Once everything was connected and the lights came on, the difference was immediate.

The set really came alive.

Is LEGO 43307 Worth It?

For me, absolutely.

I enjoyed the build from the beginning, and building the Alien first was a big reason why. It gave me something exciting right away and made me want to continue.

The Alien looks fantastic when finished, the Pizza Planet rocket adds a lot of personality, and the overall build stays interesting from start to finish.

Then adding the BrickBling light kit took an already fun LEGO display and made it even better.

If you are a Toy Story fan, a Disney LEGO collector, or someone who just likes colorful character builds, I think LEGO 43307 is definitely worth considering.

Final Thoughts

LEGO Disney Alien with Pizza Planet Rocket Ride 43307 ended up being one of those sets that reminded me why I enjoy building LEGO in the first place.

It was fun.

I loved that the Alien was the first part of the build because it immediately got me invested in the set. Once he was finished, I was excited to move on and see the rest of the display come together.

The Alien looks amazing, the Pizza Planet ride gives the set plenty of Toy Story personality, and the finished model looks great on display.

Adding the BrickBling light kit was the finishing touch.

The lights made the entire display feel more alive, and the easy-to-follow instructions and simple micro plugs made the installation enjoyable instead of frustrating.

For me, this was a great build and an even better finished display.

My Rating: 9/10

If the claw chooses LEGO 43307, I would not argue with it.
